Business Incubator: Baby Steps
There are many budding businesses that don’t quite know what the first step is. There are questions around 1099 / W-2, or if they’re ready to go beyond being an employee. Sometimes you just want someone to bounce ideas off of in order to feel like you even know what to ask the professionals.
I started as an independent contractor in the entertainment industry in 2003, a self-employed Massage Therapist in 2013, and transitioned to founding Wellness Lab, LLC in 2017. I’ve moved my business half way across the country, and was able to successfully transition. My methods have been bare bones marketing, word of mouth, and frugal to say the least. My current mission is to help new businesses find the confidence to step out onto their own, even with minimal financial investment.
My intention is not to be a business coach, or to provide legal/financial advice, but to simply mentor your growth. Depending on your stage of business development, I can share what has helped me along my path, and provide resources that can potentially make the road easier. Beyond being an incubator at Wellness Lab, I’ve also mentored Massage Therapists through the American Massage Therapy Association. Based on my personal experience, I can assist independent contractors / sole proprietors / LLCs with no employees. It’s totally possible!
If you are looking to branch out on your own, don’t be afraid to ask for help. I’m here to share my experiences so that you can choose whether you want to make the same mistakes/successes that I did, or if you want to choose differently. I have a variety of resources for the low/no budget, or if you’re ready to take big steps forward. I look forward to connecting!
